Hi everybody! I hope you're doing well. This label thing is a blast! It's pretty darn surreal talking to all of these musical heroes of ours and having them turn into friends (and dinner hosts/drinking buddies).
We here at Sounds Escaping love music. We don't discriminate either; great music can come from anywhere! But when a band this amazing is from Winnipeg, it gets us all hot and agitated. And right now, we here at Sounds Escaping are beyond-pleased two present TWO bands from our flatlands. Closing out 2016, we've got Who & What? - The Complete Studio Recordings by Stretch Marks and a 2CD (!!!), self-titled release by Personality Crisis.
Who & What? - The Complete Studio Recordings (SE-002) $14
This marks the first time that both Who's In Charge and What D'ya See will be on CD. Not only that, but both recordings have been remastered from the original tapes by Craig Boychuk!
In addition to these two seminal slabs being digitized for the first time, we've added both of their compilation appearances and have unearthed their last recording with the original line-up: the previously-unreleased "Not Your Decision". Included are liner notes from Pages Of Rage editors Chris Walter (GFY Press) and Matt Vinet, plus loads of rare photos and artwork from the archives!
Personality Crisis (SE-003) $20
This one was a doozy to put together. Not only did we track down the original masters of Personality Crisis' sole album, Creatures For Awhile, as well as their second five-song studio demo, we unearthed an amazing digital transfer of their first three-song demo from original PC drummer Mark Halldorson! But wait, there's more! While we were digging through photos and material, Walter Kot (original PC guitarist) found the master tape that the band recorded in 1982 while down in San Francisco! An undocumented recording session, the tape features six of the album tracks in early, furious form, plus a completely unreleased song called "Fashion's Ruining Music". We tacked on the two compilation tracks, bringing the grand total up to TWENTY-NINE studio recordings. They wouldn't all fit onto one disc, so this one's gonna be spread out over two. Again, big fat liner notes from Pages Of Rage editors Chris Walter (GFY Press) and Matt Vinet, plus loads of rare photos and artwork from the archives!
THE PRE-ORDER PERIOD FOR THESE RELEASES IS OVER
We're starting the pre-orders RIGHT NOW. The last time we did this for our debut release, The Forbidden Dimension's Every Twisted Tree Watches As You Pass, it went swimmingly. So, please, read on and order away! Before you send money:
1. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
2. Prices quoted below have postage included based on your location.
3. If paying with Paypal, please send the money as if you're sending to family or friends. It keeps us from getting dinged, which helps pay off all of the label-running costs faster.
4. Include your mailing address. Really. If you are only wanting the Stretch Marks collection, Paypal/e-transfer the following amount to pmichalishyn (at) gmail (dot) com
Rest of the World: $24 If you are only wanting the Personality Crisis collection, Paypal/e-transfer the following amount to pmichalishyn (at) gmail (dot) com
Rest of the World: $30 However, if you are wanting both the Stretch Marks & Personality Crisis collections, you are a hero AND you'll save $4 (during this pre-order period only).
Paypal/e-transfer the following amount to pmichalishyn (at) gmail (dot) com
Rest of the World: $41 If you are in Winnipeg and don't want to pay shipping, you can still pre-order the either CD for the amounts listed above (next to the descriptions), or both for a flat $30. We'll get the CDs to you in person.
We're looking to have both releases back before the middle of December. If you have any questions or concerns, drop us a line.
